Newsletter sign-ups
When you join the reader list, the site collects your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. It also records the sign-up source (for example, the website or a link inside a particular ebook) so relevant welcome emails can be sent and sign-ups can be measured.
Your information is used to send occasional emails about books, releases, sales, and related news. It is not sold or rented.
Consent records
To document newsletter consent, the site may store the date and time of sign-up, your email address, optional first name, IP address, sign-up source, the consent wording shown at sign-up, and the result returned by the email service. This log is stored outside the publicly accessible website folder.
EmailOctopus
EmailOctopus processes and stores subscriber information for the mailing list and sends newsletter and automated messages. Its own privacy terms apply to its processing. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every marketing email.
StoryOrigin and the free prequel
The free prequel is offered and delivered through StoryOrigin. When you request it, StoryOrigin collects the information shown on its signup page, delivers the ebook, and sends your subscriber information to the Daphne Leonard mailing list in EmailOctopus. StoryOrigin’s own privacy terms also apply.
Confirmation and delivery
If double opt-in is enabled, EmailOctopus will send a confirmation email before adding you as an active subscriber. Newsletter welcome messages are sent according to the mailing-list settings. StoryOrigin handles delivery of the free prequel requested through its reader-magnet page.
Website logs and cookies
The web host may create standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time, for security and operation. This site does not intentionally use advertising pixels or analytics cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated.
Links to other websites
Links to retailers, social platforms, and other outside services are governed by those services’ privacy policies. Following a link may allow that service to collect information under its own terms.
Retention and your choices
Subscriber information is kept while you remain subscribed and as needed to maintain legally appropriate suppression and consent records. You may unsubscribe through any email or request access, correction, or deletion by contacting the address below. Some minimal information may be retained when legally required or to honor an unsubscribe request.
Children
This site and mailing list are not directed to children under 16, and personal information from children under 16 is not knowingly collected.
